RE-Alliance “Local Energy Hubs”
As part of a new campaign urging the government to invest in ‘Local Energy Hubs’, we produced a short documentary highlighting regional Australian farmers’ experience with the shift to renewable energy.
As part of a new campaign urging the government to invest in ‘Local Energy Hubs’, we produced a short documentary highlighting regional Australian farmers’ experience with the shift to renewable energy.
The campaign comes as the Regional Australia Institute released a report that shows Australia’s net zero targets are under threat, unless regional communities are given a genuine seat at the table to help drive the change.
The documentary demonstrates the need for Local Energy Hubs: local outreach centres in energy shift regions staffed by trusted local experts, who can answer the questions being asked by their local communities.
Madelin worked with Wellington merino sheep farmer Tony Inder, Singleton farmer Sophie Nichols and Narrabri farmer and Managing Director of Geni.Energy, Sally Hunter, to illustrate this need via their personal stories.
